Santa Punch Gift Card Holder

Hello! I am making these for an upcoming Vendor Show next month. I have made various designs for Birthdays too.

Here's instructions so you can make your own!
  1. Fold 4 1/4" x 11" card stock in half.
  2. Using Word Window Punch - punch 2 "partial" windows on the fold edge, aligning punch with each side of the card. The punch outs should be side by side and will have a small gap between them.
  3. Use 1 1/4" Circle Punch to punch a half circle centered between the two word window punch outs.
  4. Fold each end of the card into the center.
  5. Adhere center of gift card together. Put adhesive on each side and along one of the folds. DO NOT PUT ADHESIVE AT OR NEAR THE PUNCH OUT AREA. Or your gift card will not be able to be inserted into the holder.
  6. Attach onto cover. (6" x 4 3/4", fold in half).

Birthday Whimsy

My hubby, Dan is celebrating his 50th birthday this Saturday. Because I am a Stampin Up Demonstrator, I tend to grab current products when I stamp. Tonight I felt like playing with some retired "toys". The stamp set, Birthday Whimsy is retired, but I still love it. I used SU retired Wire Works for the balloon strings. It is thin wired and I just wrapped around a pencil to create the swirl effect of the wire. And, I dug out my Cuttlebug Folders and used one to emboss circles on the banana paper. I also used dimensionals to pop-up the balloons, and glue dots to attach the birthday banner so it is wavy. Hope he likes it! Thanks for looking!

Frankenstein Pillow Boxes

Hello! I made these cute Frankenstein Pillow Boxes for my Club Members this month as a "thank you" for being in my Club. Each one was filled with candy corn...yummy! I made the boxes using the Pillow Box die cut for my Stampin Up Big Shot. The eyes and nose were made with circle punches, and for the hair I simply used a scissors to cut the "bangs"..lol. The mouth and scar on his face were just drawn with a black marker. The whites of his eyes were done with a White Gel Pen. Happy Halloween!

Bella Rose Friends

Hello! My friend Jodi suggested I post this card and share it with you all :) I am not sure what the proper name for this fold is. The dimensions are 4.5" x 4.5" square. I used Bella Rose Designer Paper (LOVE that stuff!) and Riding Hood Red card stock. The stamp set used for the belly band is Best Yet (Level One Hostess) and the inside greeting is using Flight of the Butterfly. Thanks for looking and don't forget to stamp today!

Club Card - Faux Window Treatment

Hi Stampers! Here's another card we made at my Stamp Club Workshop last Thursday. Isn't this stamp set cute? Cupcakes are so popular right now, and this set is on sale, gotta love that! (see Promotions at the right side of my blog for more details).

How to make a Faux Window Treatment Card:
Using patterned paper to mimic curtain fabric, scallop punch one edge and fold over a stamped image that looks as though it appears through a window. Use Dimensionals to "pop up" the awning. That's it!

Recipe for my card:
Papers: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Riding Hood Red Designer Paper
Stamp Set: Crazy for Cupcakes
Inks: Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Blender Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, 3 Way Glue Pen, Riding Hood Red Ribbon
Note: I used the horizontal slot punch on the side of the card to make a thin "slit" to feed the ribbon through.

Price: $23.95

Club Card Waterfall Technique

Hi there! Last Thursday my Stamp Club met for our monthly workshop (Hi Girls!). Here is one of the projects we made....a Waterfall Card. This card was based on a swap I received at Convention from Marjo Juson. Isn't it cute? I have made Waterfall Cards in the past and they certainly have the "wow-factor" when giving one...and they are not as difficult to make as you might think. Here is a tutorial on how to make a Waterfall Card http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/waterfall_card/

Here is the ingredients for my card:
Stamp Sets: Deer Friends (Level 2 Hostess), Polka Dot (background)
Cardstock: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla
Inks: Versamark, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Gold eyelets and Chocolate Chip Ribbon

Stampers Showcase Once Again :)

Hi! Another card of mine made Stampers Showcase on the Stampin Up Demonstrator website :) This was one of the cards I made to "swap" at the Stampin' Up Convention and submitted it to Stampin Up when I was there in Utah. What a GREAT trip that was!

This card type is called "faux film strip" and is so easy to do using the Spiral Punch from Stampin Up. For the butterflies, I cut each one out and placed a dimensional in the middle and bent the wings up gently so they "pop" off the card. The cardstock is Pretty in Pink and the darker butterflies are Rose Red. I also used Versamark on the swirl stamp on the background for some interest. The sentiment "Wish Big" is from Short and Sweet. Oh, and the "bling" is a little Dazzling Diamonds on the wings! (gotta love bling!). Thanks for looking.

Breast Cancer Awarness Month

That's right! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. (I am a survivor...woo hoo!) I like to participate in the Splitcoast Challenges, and the Color Challenge today was in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness. We were to use the colors basic black and pink pirouette in our card.

Recipe for my card:
Stamp Sets: Eastern Blooms, Best Yet
Accessories: Pink Pirouette Ribbon and Buttons, Top Note Die
Colors: Black, Pink Pirouette

Here's the Challenge that I followed:
Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month - all the challenges this month will have a pink in them. Especially since most of us are women, this affects all of us and we should do whatever we can to support the cause and raise awareness. My husband's mother died of breast cancer when he was young, both my grandmother and aunt are survivors. It is so widespread that it affects almost everyone's family somewhere along the line. So here's the first of the Pink Challenges - and it's an easy one!

Stair Step Card

Here is my card for Splitcoast Stampers "Try a New Technique Challenge". This is my first attempt....and I can't wait to try more!
Here are the instructions for the challenge:

It's called either a Stair Step fold, or an Accordion fold, depending on the orientation of your project. This would be a Stair Step fold since it's landscape, but this fold can work either way - portrait or landscape.
  • Cut your cardstock to the size of 10.5 X 5.0 - if you want to stamp on this, now would be the time to do it.
  • Score your cardstock at 1.25" - 2.5" - 4.25", 6" and at 8.25" Now fold with hills and valleys (accordion style) making sure that the smallest (1.25" fold) is folded down, as this will be the front of your card) Once you look at the samples, you will see what I'm referring to.
  • Now here's the fun part...decorate with ANYTHING...punches, cut-outs, stickers...whatever your theme is, run with it.
These cards may be done in landscape or portrait orientation so 'step it up' and let your imagination run wild.

Gift Box - Scallop Envelope Die

Hi Stampers! Sorry it has been a while since I have posted on my blog...time sure flies! This post is a Gift Box I made using the Scallop Envelope Sizzix Die. Isn't it fun? And easy peasy! It is just 4 envelopes attached to form a box. I decorated with some Red Riding Hood Designer Series paper, some Old Olive ribbon, and stamped the front with a Christmas stamp from the Punches 3 set. (Level One Hostess). I used the small oval punch to punch out the sentiment and popped it up with dimensionals. Inside the bag are some chocolate chip cookies, but you could fill with anything like candy or whatever! This would make a great teacher gift, stocking stuffer or a"just beacause" gift :) Thanks for looking!

Limited Supply Challenge

OMGosh...this WAS a challenge. To make a card with no embellishments?!? For me, it's all about the embellishments, so this was a difficult one. Now that I submitted the card for the challenge, I might just slap some ribbon on this baby! LOL. For some interest, I used the Faux Tearing technique. If you have never tried a Splitcoast Challenge, you should .... they are fun! Thanks for looking!

Stamp Sets: True Friend, Best Yet
Inks: Real Red, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Real Red
Accessories: Dimensionals

Kristina's Color Challenge #24

100108-colorinspiration.jpg

Here is my card for Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #24. I based this card on a Christmas card I am making to sell at a Vendor Show in November. I used my Stampin' Up Big Shot to make the scallop circle, as well as the bird and branches. Gotta love the Big Shot!
Happy Stamping and thanks for looking!

Big Shot Christmas Card

Here is one card I am making to sell at the Vendor Show in Norwood on November 22nd. (see my Calendar of Events for more info). The scallop circle, bird and branches are all made using my Stampin' Up Big Shot and dies. Love it! The little blue flower is made from the Boho Blossoms punch. The cardstocks used are Very Vanilla (base of card), Chocolate Chip (for bird), Old Olive (branhes), Baja Breeze (flower). The designer paper is from Bella Rose (bottom half of scallop). The ribbon is Red Riding Hood Taffeta. The word stamp is from Best Yet (Level One Hostess). If you haven't considered a Big Shot, you should. It would be a perfect Christmas gift too...just give your Wish List and my contact info to your "gift givers" and I will do the rest! Thanks for looking!

Punchy Santa

Isn't this cute?!? I found the idea on kimevans blog, and knew I had to try one. The only stamping involved is the "pom pom" on his hat. Cardstock used is Blush Blossom base, Whisper White and Real Red. I used the Paper Crimper for the white brim of his hat. The white in the eyes were drawn on with a white gel pen. Other than that...just punches. Thanks for looking!
