Valentine Sketch

Hi Stampers! Here is my submission for Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge SC209.

Here was the layout we were to follow Click image for larger version Name: SC209.jpg Views: 411 Size: 33.8 KB ID: 127767

I was in need of some Valentine card ideas, so thought I would play around a little. It's hard to tell from this photo, but I used the "Dazzling Diamond Dust" technique on the heart for some glitter. The Designer Paper is from the Print Pack (Level One Hostess) of the current catalog. I popped-up the word "together"and the heart. Do you like?

Stamp Sets: Happy Everything, Priceless
Paper: Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Real Red DP (Print Pack), Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Versmark
Accessories: Large and Small Oval Punches, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbion, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and my "trusty" paper snips :)

Thanks for looking!

So Sweet of You

Our nice neighbors Jason and Sandi delivered a bag of yummy Truffles for us on Christmas Eve. How sweet is that?!? This is the thank-you card I made for them. I like digging out retired stamps once in a while for "personal" use, because I am a demonstrator and tend to grab current supplies every time I stamp. The scallop flower is from the retired set "So Many Scallops", which I still love. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the inside of the flower reads "so sweet of you" I thought that was appropriate :)

Stamp Sets: So Many Scallops, Curvy Verses
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Bella Rose DP
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Spiral Punch, Circle Scallop Punch, Boho Blossom Punch, Gold Brad, Dimensionals

Punch Art Lamb Card

Hi SCS'ers (and blog fans) Sorry for the delay in posting this card on my blog. The past couple of days have been crazy. This card measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square.

Stamp Set: Short & Sweet
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette and Basic Black
Ink: Black
Punches:
Body: Scallop Circle Punch
Legs: Word Window Punch
Face: Large Oval
Ears: 3/4" circle (cut in half)
"Hair" (lol): Boho Blossom Punch

All supplies are Stampin Up with the exception of the "wiggle eyes" that I bought at Michaels. The black gingham ribbon is Stampin Up. I also popped it up using Dimensionals.

If you have any questions, please email me anytime. Thanks for looking!

Gift Card Holder

Okay, I PROMISE this will be my last post (of 2008 anyway) having to do with Christmas cards or projects. I love Christmas, but glad we can move on to making projects for other occasions again. Anyhow, our family exchanges stocking stuffers, and this year I gave everyone a Caribou Gift Card. (gotta love Caribou!). These are the little gift card holders I came up with for the cards. How do you like them? It's hard to tell from the photo, but the snowman has Dazzling Diamonds on him for some "bling" :)

Christmas Cards I Received

Hi Stampers! Thought I would share with you all the pretty handmade cards I received this year. Thanks everyone who took the time to make your beautiful creations, I love every one of them!
This card was made by my Mom, Karen. Don't you love this color combo? Plus, she embossed the tree and saying with silver embossing powder...so pretty! Thank you Mom!
This card was made by my friend and Club Member, Cindy G. She used sequins for the ornaments on the card...how clever! Thank you Cindy, the card is adorable.
Our neighbor, Ruth sent us this card. I love the color combo and the layout. Very nice work Ruth!
Isn't this pretty? This card was made by our friend, Jody E. I miss Purely Pomegranate...such a pretty color. Loved to see it again. Very pretty card Jody, thank you!
Here's the card from my upline, Dawn. Love the use of the Top Note Die and the scallop snowflake. And, who doesn't love Old Olive Ribbon? (one of my fav's!). Thank you Dawn!
This was made by Cindy K...nice work Cindy! This is a technique we learned at Club using Versamark and Dazzling Diamonds. Love your color combo too Cindy! Thank you!
And last, but certainly not least...is a card from my friend Peggy. I love how she "popped up" the snowflakes on the tree with dimensionals. Also love the ribbon in the corner for an added embellishment. Thanks Peg!

Thank you for looking. Hope you all have a SAFE and HAPPY New Year!

Stamping on Candles

Finally, here is the final project we made last week at my Club Workshop. Since our Workshop was one week before Christmas, I thought it was too late to be making Christmas Cards. So instead, I tried to find projects that they could use for Christmas. So, I came up with the *Top Note bags, the *Tag Bags (*shown in previous posts) and finally a stamped candle :) These are so easy to make and would be appropriate for any occasion. Happy Stamping!

How to Stamp on Candles:
  1. Stamp on tissue paper. Use images that can be colored-in or solid images, in the ink color of your choice.
  2. Color in stamped images using some form of coloring medium; markers, blender pen w/ ink, watercolor pencils, etc.
  3. Cut out your stamped images fairly close to the edges.
  4. Take a piece of wax paper and cut it so that it is long enough so that it wraps completely around the candle and then some.
  5. Add a dab of glue stick to your candle to hold tissue in place.
  6. Take your first stamped image and place it on the candle. Then place the wax paper on top and wrap the wax paper around the candle. Wing out the extra wax paper and pinch close with your fingers making sure the wax paper is tight against the candle.
  7. Heat up your embossing gun for 30-40 seconds until it is nice and hot. Moving quickly, wave it over the area where the stamped image is; be sure to keep the wax paper nice and tight. Every candle will have a different wax melting point, but you should see the change take place within a few seconds. As the candle heats up, the pressure from the wax paper should push the image into the melting wax of the candle, embedding the image and leaving your image intact. DO NOT OVER HEAT.
  8. Slowly peel the wax paper off the candle. If there is an area that is not completely melted, simply place the wax paper back over the image and heat again.

Gift Tag Project from Club

Here is another project we made at my Stamp Club Workshop last week. The tags are 2" x 2" square and all we did was slip 3 tags into these cute cello bags. The bags shown are Stampin Up's small cello bags with a piece of Desginer paper cut to fit the bag. Then all we did was punch through the bags and Designer Paper with the Word Window Punch, added some coordinating ribbon and woo la! What a cute hostess gift, teacher gift or a "just becauase" gift.

Recipe for this project:
Stamp Set: Deer Friends (Level 2 Hostess)
Papers: Holiday Treasure Designer Paper, Old Olive, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: 1 1/4" Circle Punch,. 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Old Olive Wide Ribbon

Thanks for looking!

Top Note Die Bags

This is one of the projects we made last night at my Stamp Club Workshop. They are little gift bags you could use for candy, a small gift or a gift card. This entire project was made using the Stampin Up Big Shot. We did sponge white craft ink around the edges and added Dazzling Diamonds to the word "Joy"

Here is another bag I made for fun. The Merry Christmas on the front is actually a tag that is made with the Wide Oval Punch. I left a fold at the top to make the tag. Love the colors!

Here's another sample. This one I used a clear pebble for the Snowman's head. I got this idea from Linda at Stamping School. Thanks Linda!

Snowman Punch Card

This is the "thank you" card I made for my Club Members this month. I know, I know....no stamping? But, I still couldn't resist making them :) Although I did sponge his checks in Pink Pirouette, does that count? All punches used to make this card are from Stampin Up (of course) and Dazzling Diamonds was added to the snowflake punch on his cap. I popped-up his orange nose with dimensionals for some added interest. Thanks for looking!

Roof Garden Class

Today's post shows the project we made a class I held last week. The cards were made from the Accents and Elements line, this one called Roof Garden. This photo got a little "busy" trying to cram all the cards in one photo, but there are 4 full size cards and 4 note cards (3"x3"). If you haven't tried using the Accents and Element, I highly recommend it. They make putting together a project so easy. This next photo shows how all the full size cards fit in the "tote" so you can give as a gift. Who wouldn't love to receive this?
Thanks to everyone who attended the class. Hope you had fun!

Treat Pouch

First of all, I have to apologize for the blurry photo! My camera is rather old and it is hit or miss whether I get a good photo or not. I am getting a new camera soon though, can't wait!

This is a "bonus project" I had for the Club Members to make at our last workshop. These are super simple to make and you can get THREE pouches out of one sheet of cardstock!

Here are the details so you can make your own!

Start with a full sheet of cardstock (8 1/2" x 11") and score (on the 8 1/2" side) @ 3 3/4", 4 1/4" and 4 3/4". Then cut 3 sections to be 3 5/8" x 8 1/2" each. You will get 3 pouches out of one sheet of paper. Use the SU! Word Window Punch to make a slit. Add adhesive to the top, then using the Crop A Dile, make 2 holes to run your ribbon through and tie a knot. It's that easy! I used Urban Garden Deisgner Paper with the stamp set "Deer Friends".
